Law of Attraction

What You Put Out is What You Attract...

That's what The Law of Attraction is all about. Another way of saying this is that 'the energy you put out (and with which you take action) is going to directly impact or be mirrored in the results you get.'

If you put little or nothing out - you're likely to get little or nothing back. If what you put out in your business in the form of your actions and activities has an energy of fear, anxiety, pressure or desperation - the results you get back from those actions will reflect the quality of your energy much more than the quantity of your actions.

In his book, The Trick to Money is Having Some, author Stuart Wilde describes this phenomenon in this way...

What you put out is what you get back and the reason so many are so short of money is that they put little or nothing out...

Let us look at the quality of energy you are putting out so that when your energy mixes with that of the marketplace of life, you will only need small amounts of what you are to generate large amounts in return.
Sounds pretty abundant, huh? Imagine only having to put our small amounts of what you are to generate large amounts in return!

In his book, Wink and Grow Rich, author and trainer Roger Hamilton uses a great analogy to explain this same dynamic - one I'm going to borrow here.

Have you ever stayed at or been to a two-star hotel?
If you have, imagine the amenities and level of service you receive there. Imagine, too, the room rate for such a hotel.

Now compare that with a five-star hotel or resort. What is the difference in terms of the environment, amenities and level of service you receive? What's the difference in terms of the cost to stay at such a hotel?

There's quite a contrast, isn't there?

So what type of 'clientele' is attracted to the two-star hotel? To the five-star hotel?
In a nutshell, people who expect and/or are only willing to pay for 'two-star' amenities and service will stay at the two-star hotel... and people who expect and are willing to pay for 'five star' amenities will stay at the five-star one.

Both hotels are, bottom line, offering the same 'product', i.e., a place to stay. But how they package and offer that product and the 'energy' with which they do so is quite different - as is the price they charge for their product and the clientele they attract.

So - Tija - what kind of 'hotel' are you running with your business? Are you running a two-star or five-star business? Is the level of service you give two-star or five-star?

More importantly, is the energy with which you are building and operating your business two-star or five-star?

I've worked with thousands of entrepreneurs over the past ten years - many of whom are in direct selling, party plan or network marketing businesses. During those ten years, I've consistently heard these people say that they want to attract business builders and leaders in their businesses.
Given Roger Hamilton's analogy, a question I would now like to ask each of these entrepreneurs - including you - is simply this.

If you want to attract business builders, are you - yourself - being the type of business builder you say you want to attract?

If you want to attract leaders in your business, are you being the same type of leader you want to attract?

If you want to attract people who will 'take the ball and run with it', are you doing the same?

If you want to attract people who will treat your business like a business and take consistent action to grow their business, are you doing the same?

In other words, are you running your business with the same energy and the same standards as a two-star or five-star hotel?

For that matter, are you living your life at a two-star level or a five-star level? I'm not necessarily talking about the type of car you drive or the home you live in or the clothes you wear. I'm talking about the quality of your life and what you expect of yourself.

As Roger Hamilton reminded me and I am now reminding you, it starts with your standards. If you have two-star standards for your business, your life and (especially) yourself, then you will attract results that match your standards. If you have five-star standards and act accordingly to those higher standards, you will attract five-star results.
If you have two-star standards for yourself (aside from your business), you will attract people with similar standards. For example, if you continue to make excuses for yourself and your lack of results, you will attract people who will do the same. If you rationalize all the reasons why you are not taking certain actions in your business and continue to avoid taking those actions, you will attract people who do the same.

What you attract will match the standards and quality you hold yourself accountable to. What you focus on you attract. What you put out is what you get back. Your business will rise or fall depending on the standards you set for yourself.

And so, Tija, the question is...

What are your standards? Are they based in scarcity or abundance?

And - if you answered 'abundance' - are you sure? Look at your current results - because they offer you a mirror by which you can see what your current standards REALLY are.
Even if your standards are based in abundance - is it two-star or five-star abundance? Are you committed to having 'just enough abundance to get by' or all the abundance you need to live a free and fulfilling and joyous life?

It all starts with you. What kind of business are you building? What kind of results are you attracting?

What kind of life are you living? Are you committed to live?

What kind of business do you need to build and life do you need to live to attract the results you say you want?

Remembering Stuart Wilde's quote, what's the quality of energy (as opposed to quantity) you need to attract the quality of results you want?
I realize I'm asking you a lot of questions - but that's because I cannot give you an answer or a 'magic formula'. All I can do is give you an opportunity to look and see - to look inside and be honest with yourself. All I can do is give you an opportunity to see where you need to learn, grow and even - yes, it's true - change in order to attract the results you desire.

Here's what the Innkeeper (one of the characters in Wink and Grow Rich) tells Richard (the main character in this story) about two-star and five-star results...

'Five-star service is about service, quality and conduct. These things don't cost money. It just takes better rules and better systems to ensure you don't settle for less. So, higher standards do not need to cost more and, in fact...'

He leaned toward Richard...

'Who do you think has to put in more effort? The man with the two-star life or the man with the five-star life?'
If it seems like you're having to put a lot of effort into building your business (that's the quantity of energy Stuart Wilde writes about), then there's a good chance it's because you have two-star standards. The energy you're putting out is two-star as well.

So - are you willing to raise your standards - for yourself and for your business?

Are you willing to emphasize quality and consistency above quantity - especially at the beginning?

Are you willing to change the level of energy - to increase the quality to five-stars - no matter how difficult it may seem at first?

What's your standard going to be - from this point forward? Two-stars? Three-stars? Five stars?

It's really up to you - and one answer is not better than the other. It's about knowing where you're at. If you say you want five-star results but continue to run your business and your life (and yourself) with two-star energy, service, actions and standards - you're setting yourself up for a lot of frustration, struggle and wasted time, money and energy.

Remember - what you put out is what you get... that's the Law of Attraction.

Steps to Success

Seven Steps to Success

There is a powerful seven step formula that you can use to set and achieve your goals for the rest of your life.

Every single successful person uses this formula or some variation of this formula to achieve vastly more than the average person. And so can you. Here it is:

Decide What You Want
Step number one, decide exactly what it is you want in each part of your life. Become a "meaningful specific" rather than a "wandering generality."

Write it Down
Second, write it down, clearly and in detail. Always think on paper. A goal that is not in writing is not a goal at all. It is merely a wish and it has no energy behind it.

Set a Deadline
Third, set a deadline for your goal. A deadline acts as a "forcing system" in your subconscious mind. It motivates you to do the things necessary to make your goal come true. If it is a big enough goal, set sub-deadlines as well. Don't leave this to chance.

Make a List
Fourth, make a list of everything that you can think of that you are going to have to do to achieve your goal. When you think of new tasks and activities, write them on your list until your list is complete.

Organize Your List
Fifth, organize your list into a plan. Decide what you will have to do first and what you will have to do second. Decide what is more important and what is less important. And then write out your plan on paper, the same way you would develop a blueprint to build your dream house.

Take Action
The sixth step is for you to take action on your plan. Do something. Do anything. But get busy.
Get going.

Do Something Every Day
Do something every single day that moves you in the direction of your most important goal at the moment. Develop the discipline of doing something 365 days each year that is moving you forward. You will be absolutely astonished at how much you accomplish when you utilize this formula in your life every single day.

Action Exercises
Here are two things you can do to put these ideas into action immediately.

First, decide exactly what you want, write it down with a deadline, make a plan and take action - on at least one goal - today!

Second, determine the price you will have to pay to achieve this goal and then get busy paying that price - whatever it is.
